Impressions from the day

Last Tuesday we had the first, inspiring event of the OER Creator Workshop series. The day was a great starting point for our group to meet, share new ideas, for connecting and collaborating, and to start developing learning resources that are open and accessible. The ZHAW OER Team led through the day and the first part revolved around learning resources that are developed and shared under an open licence, that is Open Educational Resources (OER). With Alireza Darvishy and Oriane Pierrès from the ICT Accessibility Lab onboard, the focus of the afternoon was set on accessibility of open learning resources. The group has an open group area on OER Commons. Through OER Commons, the group discusses issues and developments and will publish resources as OER.

About Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning resources that are published and shared under an open licence, such as Creative Commons.
In order to make these resources truly open, it is important to make sure they are also accessible.

OER also align to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Lifelong learning  – they are sustainable, create new learning opportunities and enable lifelong learning.

We will keep posting here about further developments, stay tuned…
